Transportation, Shipping /2022
Our client is a player in the railway transportation sector. At the concerned location, external and internal washing of wagons carrying bulk products is carried out. This posed a challenge because the wash water contains a very diverse range of pollutants. These can be dissolved salts or, for example, various seeds of grains, their chunky, solid parts.
The main problem was the removal of dissolved salts, as they are characterized by a wide physical-chemical spectrum. Accordingly, the theoretical process of the cleaning technology is as follows:
- - Mechanical filtration for the removal of solid pollutants,
- - Chemical treatment (coagulation-flocculation) for the removal of the colloidal fraction,
- - Separation of sludge and water phases by sedimentation,
- - Monitoring the dissolved salt content by conductivity measurement, and if necessary, removal of dissolved salts using reverse osmosis (RO) equipment.
Our commission covered the full realization, including all work phases from obtaining permissions (water law establishment and operating permits) through design to execution and commissioning. The technological equipment was installed in custom-made, winterized containers.
