Powder Dosers
In various water and wastewater treatment technologies (as well as other manufacturing processes), there is a need to precisely dose powdered materials. Powder dosers are used for the continuous or intermittent dosing of such powders and granules. The main components of the equipment include:
- - Hopper: The hopper stores the material to be dosed, with a capacity ranging from 5 to 50 liters. In cases where materials are prone to clumping or caking, the hopper can be equipped with an agitating or "shaking" unit to prevent these issues. The consumption of the material is detected by a powder sensor, which sends a warning signal to the operator.
- - Auger: The dosing quantity can be regulated by adjusting the size of the auger and the speed of the drive motor. The dosing range typically varies between 0.5 to 5.0 kg/h.
The most commonly dosed materials include polyelectrolytes, clarifiers, aluminum sulfate, activated carbon, and more.
